I was broken by the time they were done with me. It just took me a long time to do anything to help myself.
They set almost impossible ideals and then vilify the teenagers for normal behavior.
The pain stays with us all our lives I think.

Broken vases and other ways we are made to feel damaged
by dinah inthose of you who have been around here for awhile now about this.......but while talking to hubby today another detail popped in my head.my jw adolescence was troubled.
i stayed in trouble.i want to tell you guys about my jc when i was 15 and the subsequent talk that was given in front of god and everybody during the ministry school.well, i had sex with a boy.
not just any boy.

Cross prophecied in OT? The altar?
by still_in74 inwe have all read the arguments - was it a cross or a stake?
the jw's teach it was a stake or pale, <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/cross_or_stake_as_gibbet_on_which_jesus_died> however if you really examine the wts teaching and logic behind this position you discover that it is not 'exact'.
rather, it becomes an assumption, a best guess.

This makes sense to me although the pagan origins of the cross doesn't bother me at all.

The same thing happened to me when I was 16. The only differrence was they said a china plate instead of a vase.
They publically reproved me and took away my priveleges, that's when I started having panic attacks. I never did join the ministry school again and only answered when bullied into it.
I did end up marring a Witness boya few years later but he was from a different circuit.

as for myself, i kind of liked the older one better, its just seems that the usability was better,.

Has anyone ever gone to a Healer?
by Bubblie ina new friend has contacted me about going to a healer.
she sounds like she has helped many with health problems here in my area.
since, i am in the bible belt of the south most would consider her to be from the demons.

Beware of anyone who says they will heal you for money. There are people who can heal lbut it is rare and they wil not want any gain from their gift.
Nor will they want any publicity.
I was healed of RA by someone and he didn't let me know ahead of time that he was going to do it nor did he want any thanks. I had no idea until it was done. My doctor was dunmbfounded because my blood levels are normal and there is no new inflamation. I feel great for the first time in my life. I did not ask for this healing, it was freely given out of his desire to help me. He can heal manty ailments but there are things he will not touch.
Be careful though there are many charlatans out there.

Did You ACTUALLY Believe That Jehovah Was Going To Answer Your Prayers?

Chain restaurants-
Panera Bread Co.has some nice salads and TGIF has a salad with strawberries that's better than just okay
Other than that I don't go to too many chain restaurants.
Some local Greek places have wonderful open souvlaki- greek salad with either chicken or beef souvlaki, olives, onions, cucumber, tomato, and feta cheese with a lemon vinagrette dressing and tzaziki sauce on the side.
Ture story- My daughter went to Olive Garden near us and ordered the salad. When it came to the table there was a used coffee creamer container in the salad bowl. YUCK

I'm a leftie and I've always liked it except for the smearing while writing thing.
I played violin when I was in school, I did have a left handed violin and the teacher just used the mirror method.
For guitar I would suggest trying the regular way to see if he can learn that, if not you can buy leftie guitars or just reverse the strings and use the mirror method.
Kurt Cobain and Paul McCartney both played left handed guitars and I'm sure there are many other too.
